Hanging plants look great in rooms with high ceilings, and Spanish Moss – or, to give it it's Latin name, Tillandsia usneoides – is particularly easy to care for.
The good news is that Spanish moss is very low maintenance. The plants do not need soil or a pot because, as a species of bromeliad, they have virtually no roots.
And, because it absorbs moisture directly from the air, it requires no watering – it's enough to simply spray it with water twice a week.
However you will have to make sure you put it in the right place, experts say. Spanish moss plants need a bright spot, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. They also need enough space to hang down freely. – dpa
