Rickettsial diseases, or rickettsioses, are a diverse group of bacterial infections that are spreading and/or reappearing, especially in South-East Asia, including Malaysia.

These diseases are mainly transmitted through the bites of ectoparasites such as ticks, fleas, lice and mites.
