Milo Ups Its Green Game

As we sift through the myriad of products in our fast-changing world with sustainability to the fore, household brands are making green strides by leaps and bounds.

Warming the hearts and bellies of Malaysians since its inception in the 1950s, Milo aims to provide energy and nutrition with the goodness of its choco-malt drink, all while striving to champion and inspire efforts to keep the Earth green.

To fight plastic waste, Milo invites Malaysians to be part of its upcoming initiative Milo Stik Pek X-Change, whereby the brand aims to collect and divert 2.5 million stick packs that may end up in landfills.

“The campaign encourages Malaysians to adopt sustainable waste management habits. It is part of the larger Milo Sayang Bumi movement, a concerted effort that we have undertaken for the good of the planet, ” said Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad business executive officer Ng Su Yen.

The initiative aims to improve livelihood and empower communities through income generation activities as a portion of the stick packs collected would be upcycled by local crafters.

Expect one-of-a-kind limited edition handicraft and collector’s items fashioned by Upcycle Shack, Inspirasi Kreatif, Nerine Ong and Helping Hands Penan, while 500 lucky participants could walk away with one, at the end of the campaign.

“We recognise that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. As such, we hope Malaysians will join us as we continue to deliver the goodness of Milo in more environmentally sustainable ways, ” she added.

Fans of the Milo Mixes and Milo Nutri Breakfast that come in convenient single-use stick packs and sachets would be thrilled to know that their favourite Milo Less Sugar, Milo Kosong, Milo 3-in-1, Milo with Whole Grain Cereal and Milo Nutri Breakfast (both Banana and Seeds) are eligible for entry.

Each eligible Milo product carries either one or two points; 50 points collected can be exchanged for limited edition Milo sports bags that come in four different designs.

The sports bags designs A and B are eligible for redemption from March 14 to April 15, while designs C and D are up for grabs from April 16 to May 31.

All you need to do is follow these simple steps to participate:

Step 1: Collect any Milo stick packs or sachets to earn 50 points.

Step 2: Create a clean cut at the top of each stick pack or sachet. After emptying the contents, thoroughly wash and dry the pack or sachet. Exercise caution with each stick pack or sachet that you wish to return.
