THE latest promotion by Tai Thong Group of Restaurants is unbelievably worthwhile.

For just RM1, diners get to enjoy a plate of Roasted Chicken on Monday, RM2 for Roasted Duck on Tuesday, RM3 for Fried Venison with Ginger and Onion or Pork with Marmite Sauce at non-halal outlets on Wednesday. The deal gets better later in the week with lip-smacking seafood dishes.

Value formoney: The FriedPrawns with saltand pepper

On Thursday, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet is offered at RM4 while Fried Prawn with Salt and Pepper is available for just RM5 on Friday.

“The prawns, weighing about 1kg, are definitely value for money.

“Besides seasoning the prawns with salt and pepper, we also add in deep-fried chopped garlic for extra flavour and bite,” Tai Thong Restaurant (Klang) chief chef Wo Hoi Ming said.

The Crab Meat and Dried Scallop Broth on Saturday and Dried Seafood in casserole on Sunday are simply irresistible, as they come with a small price tag of RM6 and RM7 respectively.

Most inviting dish: A casserole full of pacific clams, sea cucumber, Chinese mushroomsand broccoli.

Chef Wo said the restaurant painstakingly removed the shells of the steamed crab to retain the shapes of their pincers as much as possible.

As for the stock, chicken, ham, pork shoulder and pork ribs (or beef for halal outlets) are used.

“We add 1kg of water for every 1.5kg of ingredients and then slow-cook for at least five-and-a-half hours. As such, the stock is very flavourful,” Chef Wo said.

The Dried Seafood in Casserole was the most inviting dish, featuring nicely-arranged pacific clams, sea cucumber, Chinese mushrooms, tofu and broccoli.

“When we arrange the fried items in the pre-heated casserole, the oyster sauce and dark soy sauce is caramelised lightly and lend a special fragrance to the dish,” Chef Wo said.

The promotion, valid for dine-in with a minimum of three customers per table, is offered throughout April and May at all 19 Tai Thong outlets in the Klang Valley, Ipoh and Kota Kinabalu.

Diners feasting on these daily specials will also receive one “Parent Eats Free” voucher, which allows either the mum or dad in the family to dine for free on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day in May and June respectively.

It is only applicable with a minimum of six customers per table.
