As Korea hurtles forward with its technology and K-pop, some still want marriage ceremonies infused with the country’s rich history and culture.

LIKE many other women, Kim So-jeong dreamed of walking down the aisle in a Western-style pearl-white silk dress with a sparkling tiara on her head, just like that seen on TV. But the 31-year-old office worker opted for something different for her big day – choosing hanbok (a Korean traditional dress) over a wedding gown and a jokduri (a ceremonial coronet) over a tiara.
