Starchild: Malaysian children show their love for their family through drawings

For most of us, happy moments are often spent with family: whether it is while on holiday, watching a movie together or even just doing daily chores like tidying or running errands.

What are some activities that you like doing with your family? Recently, Starchild asked readers to submit their letters on the topic, Happy Family. Here’s what they have to say.

Lim Jo Ern, six, likes to play music with her parents and brother during her free time. “We spend time singing, playing instruments and dancing. I love my family and the fun times we share together.”

Amelia Hon Hui Qing, five

“My mother is Indian and my father is Chinese. Although I have mixed parentage, we are a happy family, ” says Amelia Hon Hui Qing, five.

Anjali Elangovan, 11, says her siblings and parents are loving and caring. “They make me happy when I’m sad. I love my family very much.”

Jane Ng Ai Wen, seven

“I like to play board games like Monopoly, UNO with Daddy and Mummy. We always enjoy these simple moments together, ” writes Jane Ng Ai Wen, seven.

Tejessh Kanakaraju

“At night, I love to spend time looking at the stars and the moon with my parents and twin sister. I love being with my family very much, ” says Tejessh Kanakaraju.

Theahshree Kanakaraju

His sister Theahshree Kanakaraju, likes to source for some of the latest dance tutorials on YouTube and practise them with her parents and Tejessh. “I love to dance with my family. I also like to play games and read books with my family, especially before going to sleep. My family means the world.”

“Since we are not able to travel overseas this year, my dad is planning to take us to the National Elephant Conservation Centre in Kuala Gandah, Pahang and alsoo to the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. I love to spend time with my family because we always have fun together, ” says Elisha Johnson, six.

Bethany Wang Qi Syuen, five

Since MCO, I have had many happy memories at home with my family. I love time spent reading and chit-chatting with Daddy and Mummy. I also enjoy sharing ice cream and bubble tea with my little brother. Family time is the happiest time for me, ” says Bethany Wang Qi Syuen, five.

“I love to visit different parks around KL with my family. What I love best is running, playing and enjoying nature. It’s so fun being with my family, ” writes Saira Abigail Terence, eight.

Shobhann Subaash, five

Five-year-old Shobhann Subaash says: “I enjoy outdoor activities with my parents. My favourite activities are playing badminton and going on motorbike rides with my father. I enjoy helping my mom prepare meals for the family. We are a happy family.”
