Paris Hilton repeatedly flaked on interviews for Kim Kardashian’s upcoming biography, irking her billionaire beauty mogul pal.

Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, is being penned by author Jonathan Van Meter, who recently spoke about the process in an interview published by the Hollywood Reporter. He said of all the people he hoped to interview, he only missed out on three of them.

In addition to Hilton, Van Meter noted that he did not get the opportunity to speak with two of the Skims founder’s most famous exes: her former husband, Kanye West, and Ray J, who appeared alongside Kardashian in her now-infamous sex tape.

When Van Meter approached Kardashian about speaking with Hilton, she told him an interview would have to be arranged through the socialite’s publicist. He said he thought it was odd given other interviews were easily set up via texts and phone calls, but he reached out anyway.

“I sent questions, connected with Paris’ assistant, and then the interview was cancelled 17 times over about four months,” he said.

“Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she’d tell me. Kim was so mad when I told her,” Van Meter continued. “It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them. The creation turning on the creator.”

Sources told TMZ that there is no malice on Hilton’s end.

They said the interview was being handled by an old assistant at her company and that it fell through the cracks given Hilton’s “hectic schedule.”

The insider added that she “has a lot of projects happening at once and is constantly travelling, so coordinating interviews can sometimes be a challenge.”

Kardashian and Hilton have long known each other. At the peak of Hilton’s popularity, Kardashian worked as her stylist and assistant.

She was often spotted alongside Hilton at events and even appeared on her hit reality show, The Simple Life.
