Taiwanese singer-actor Show Lo has opened up about his 67-year-old mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease, revealing that she sometimes struggles to recognise him.

In a recent interview on a Taiwanese programme, the 47-year-old became emotional as he spoke about watching his mother’s memory decline.

“Sometimes she remembers me, but sometimes she doesn’t.

“My mum once came to support me at an event, but when she saw me, she asked where I was,” he recalled, adding that she eventually recognised him a short while later.

Lo shared that he is mentally preparing himself for the possibility that his mother may one day forget him completely, though he admitted he doesn’t know if he will be able to hold back his tears when that happens.

However, the Hot Shot (2008) star said he would be at peace with whether or not his mother remembers him, as long as she remains healthy.

“It’s OK if she forgets. I’ll remember for her,” he said.

For now, Lo is making the most of his free time by spending as much of it as possible with his mother and creating memories together.

“She might forget everything five minutes later, but at least I can keep the memories of all the moments we shared,” he said.

The former Four Heavenly Kings boy group member also noted that his mother is leading a more relaxed and less stressful life today.

“In the past, she would worry about taking care of stray dogs and so on, but life today is a little easier for her. In a way, it’s an opportunity for her to rest,” he said.
