Legendary voice actor Peter Cullen, who is best known for voicing Optimus Prime in the 'Transformers' franchise, has died, He was 85.
According to his agent, the Canadian voice actor died on Wednesday (Aug 26) at his home in Los Angeles, TMZ reported earlier today. No cause of death was given.
Although he has been in showbiz for over 50 years, Cullen was best known for his voice acting roles, is most famous for voicing the noble Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise.
Cullen first lent his voice to the Autobot leader in 1984, when the Transformers cartoon series made its debut. His voice would go on to become synonymous with the character, culminating in the character's emotional death in 1986's The Transformers: The Movie.
Cullen later returned to voice Optimus in the 2007 live-action Transformers movie by Michael Bay, and reprised the role in all six of its sequels, as well as 2018's Bumblebee.
Besides Transformers, Cullen also lent his voice to other iconic characters such as Eeyore in the Winnie The Pooh films, the Predator in 1987's Predator, and many more.
