Hong Kong actress Natalie Ng – who placed second runner-up in the 1998 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant – has died at the age of 51 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

It's reported that Ng was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. The disease returned in August 2024, and by March 2025 it had progressed to stage four, spreading to her liver, bones and brain.

On June 9, her passing was announced on her social media by her family and friends.

“It is with grief and regret that we inform you Natalie died peacefully in her sleep this morning at the hospital,” the post read.

It added that she had been admitted on June 7 and was surrounded by family, including her daughters Scarlet, 11, and Season, nine, as well as close friends during her final days.

In the post, she was remembered for her courage throughout her illness and the many things she achieved in her life.

"Her positive energy also inspired many others on her journey, encouraging them to face life's challenges with a positive attitude," they wrote.

Beyond her illness, Ng had faced several personal challenges in the past year. She divorced her husband, financial expert David Chan, after 14 years of marriage in an amicable split. She also endured the loss of her father, which she had described as a devastating blow.
