Hong Kong actor Ai Wai has reassured fans that he has come to terms with the death of his wife Lisa Chan, who passed away from liver disease on May 18, 2025.

In a recent interview with HK01, the 67-year-old shared that he's coping better now and has learned how to manage his emotions effectively.

"Anyone facing difficulties must first learn to manage their emotions.

"If you deal with things while carrying sadness or anger, you'll never find the best solution. You must stay calm and relaxed," he said.

When asked if he misses his wife, who was 61 when she passed, Ai Wai said she will always remain a part of his life.

"I only allow myself three days to focus entirely on her: her birthday, the anniversary of her death and our wedding anniversary.

"It's only on those three days I allow myself to be very sad. For the rest of the time, I remain calm, optimistic and happy," he said.

For the record, Ai Wai previously told Hong Kong media in 2025 that his emotions had been unstable following Chan's death.

The former TVB star added then that he sometimes still "hears" her voice when making simple decisions in daily life.

Ai Wai and Chan maried in 2002. They separated in 2020 but never legally divorced.

The pair later reconciled on the 2022 reality programme See You Again 2.
