King Charles III will not see his son Prince Harry when the British monarch visits the United States in April.
President Donald Trump said on March 31 he will host the King and Queen of Britain's “Historic State Visit” on April 27.
That three-day visit won’t include a meeting between the King and his 41-year-old son, who lives in California with his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, according to People.
“When you’re talking about a state visit, every minute is accounted for – especially when it’s the King traveling as the invited guest of a head of state,” a source told People.
A source for the celebrity gloss said logistics for such visits are complicated.
Harry isn’t expected to force the issue.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles will be in the US to commemorate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence from Great Britain under King George III.
The King last saw his younger son in England in September 2025. It was their first visit in 19 months, according to CNN. They previously met in February 2024 following reports the King was battling cancer.
Tension between the pair came to a head when Prince Harry wrote his 2023 memoir Spare.
He and his wife said in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that a member of the Royal Family expressed concerns about their son, Prince Archie, before he was born in 2019. Such disclosures among the Royals are uncommon.
The Prince recently indicated an interest in repairing his relationship with other family members too, according to CNN.
