Relief and recovery efforts are intensifying following catastrophic flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border a week ago.
As of Sept 2, Nepal’s disaster agency said at least 1,200 people had died in Nepal, while more than 4,200 remained missing.
Meanwhile, on the Tibetan side, Chinese state media reported the death toll is 21, with more than 540 people unaccounted for.
With rescuers still working to reach survivors amid challenging conditions, international aid and relief efforts are being mobilised to support affected communities in Tibet and along the Nepal-Tibet border.
Among the celebrities lending a helping hand is singer-actor Nicholas Tse, who reportedly donated 1 million yuan (RM602,254) through the China Charity Federation to support urgent relief efforts in the affected areas of Gyirong County, Tibet.
According to portal Dimsum Daily, the contribution will be used for emergency assistance and reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.
The report also said Tse plans to monitor developments in the disaster zone. He expressed hope that those affected would recover and rebuild their lives.
