Four years after sparking the viral “Krissed” TikTok trend, where American businesswoman Kris Jenner lip-synced and danced to the 2001 hit Lady Marmalade, she’s making waves again in the meme community – this time in mainland China.

On Chinese social media platforms like Xiaohongshu and Weibo, netizens are turning Jenner into a symbol of fortune, setting her as their profile picture and “praying” to her for money, luck and success.

Some even dub the 70-year-old the “Empress Dowager.”

Social media users say they’re using Jenner as a figure to manifest success, inspired by her relentless drive and her status as one of pop culture’s richest matriarchs.

As the powerhouse behind the Kardashian-Jenner empire, she catapulted her family to global fame with the 2007 reality hit Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which ran for 20 seasons before concluding in 2021.

She also manages the careers of her celebrity children – Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

According to Singapore news portal 8days, playful variations of the Kris Jenner meme have emerged.

From sporting a construction helmet to donning a nurse’s uniform, users are customising Jenner's image to match every profession imaginable.

Netizens are also using images of her surrounded by cash and diamonds, alongside a caption manifesting a nine-figure net worth.

“I’ve changed my desktop wallpaper to Kris Jenner. You may hate or criticise her, but tell me, don’t you still want to be like her?” one netizen joked, as quoted by 8days.

Another quipped: “I changed my profile picture to Kris Jenner today, and my mum already transferred US$50,000 (RM200,900) into my bank account.”
