Get ready for your favourite Malaysian flavours in an ice cream – with a touch of movie magic.

Kruniverse, a subsidiary of KRU Group, has teamed up with SD Guthrie to launch Magika Ice Cream.

The handcrafted gelato draws inspiration from KRU’s cult 2010 fantasy film Magika, reimagining beloved local flavours as edible “spells” – think cempedak, durian and apam balik.

Beyond nostalgia, the collaboration is also rooted in sustainability.

Working closely with Guthrie’s research team, the brand uses plant-based fat formulations and responsibly sourced local ingredients, aligning with the preferences of today’s more conscious consumers.

The launch features 11 unique gelato flavours, each inspired by tastes Malaysians know and love.

According to KRU Group president and CEO Norman Abdul Halim, the project marks an exciting step into the hospitality and F&B space, extending the spirit of Magika beyond the screen and into everyday life – "where magic can be tasted, not just seen".

Magika Ice Cream is now available exclusively at Rimba Cafe at Wetland Studios Putrajaya, with plans to expand to Aneka Walk and the upcoming Magika Studios planned to open in Klang, Selangor.
