Taiwan-based Malaysian actor Hero Tai has been married to Ukrainian model Tatiana Lin since 2023, and they share two children – a two-year-old daughter and a two-month-old son.

While their family life seems idyllic, tensions have occasionally arisen with Lin's relatives.

On a recent episode of the Chop Chop Show, Tai – who appeared on the programme with Lin – recalled the troubles of living with his sister-in-law Oliya, who had stayed with them in Taiwan for two years.

The 39-year-old called her presence in the household "an incurable tumour", lamenting that despite the couple covering her living expenses, she was always unwilling to help with chores.

Unable to tolerate her behaviour, Tai once pleaded with his wife to intervene and talk to Oliya.

However, the discussion escalated into a physical altercation between the sisters, prompting Tai to step in and break up the fight.

"I asked my sister why she was behaving in such a manner, and she started hitting me, so I hit her back," Lin, 27, said.

Tai described himself as someone who can tolerate many differences in habits, adding: "For instance, Tatiana often dropped food on the floor while eating, even after repeated reminders (to becareful).

"(Lin's) family members also tend to take a bite of their food and then stuff it into the fridge, completely forgetting about it, (and the fridge) ends up overflowing with leftovers."

Given the patience he had shown, Tai felt Oliya's refusal to help around the house made his efforts feel unreciprocated.

"Hero set many household rules during those two years, and since (Oliya) couldn't adjust to them, she eventually returned to Ukraine," Lin said.
