Hong Kong star Gillian Chung playfully corrects young fan over ‘aunty’ label

Hong Kong singer and actress Gillian Chung recently charmed fans with her trademark warmth and humour during a lighthearted online interaction.

The member of the Cantopop duo Twins, alongside Charlene Choi, shared a video in which she went through letters and handmade gifts sent by her fans, taking time to thank them for their thoughtfulness and effort.

The mood turned playful when Chung read a letter from a young fan named “Little Apple” and her mother.

Smiling, the star jokingly took issue with how she was addressed in the note.

“I need to educate you a little,” Chung said as translated by Dimsum Daily. 

“What do you mean ‘Dear Aunty Chung’ and ‘Aunty Charlene’? Didn’t your mother tell you that big sister doesn’t like being called that?”

There may be a reason for to be offended as Chung, who is 44 years old, is known for her youthful looks.

Netizens have often praised her appearance, noting she looks almost unchanged from her 20s.
