Hong Kong actress Toby Chan has moved out of the luxury mansion she once shared with her ex-boyfriend, businessman Benny Yeung, following their breakup.

The pair, who had been together for eight years, ended their relationship amicably three months ago over differing values.

On Tuesday (Jan 6), Hong Kong's East Week magazine reported that Chan, 38, had moved out from the 3,000 sq ft mansion in Kau To Shan and returned to her 500 sq ft flat in Wong Tai Sin.

The mansion is said to cost HK$100,000 (RM52,175) on monthly rent while the flat was purchased in 2020 for some HK$9mil (RM4.6mil).

Reports indicate that Chan has now adopted a simpler, more independent lifestyle – driving herself rather than relying on a chauffeur and cutting back on spendings.

Despite the breakup, the actress seemed in high spirits at recent public appearances and stayed focused on her career.

While rumours suggested the former Miss Hong Kong was growing close to television host Charles Teng, she has clarified that their relationship is purely platonic.

Chan and Yeung began dating in 2017 – a romance that drew widespread attention given Yeung's wealth and Chan's high-profile status in the entertainment industry.

For the record, Yeung owns a personal care and skincare company which has an estimated net worth of HK$1bil (RM521mil).

According to news outlet The Standard, sources close to Chan suggested that their relationship had long been strained by Yeung's active social life and recurring rumours with other women.

However, Chan has since made it clear that the breakup was "made peacefully", with no third party involved.
