Malaysian singer Freddie Huang's brother and cousin narrowly escaped being crushed by a falling tree in Klang, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The incident occurred at 10.30am on Monday (Nov 24).

Surveillance footage circulating on social media showed Huang's brother standing on the sidewalk while his cousin walked towards the car.

The latter then glanced back after hearing a strange noise and bolted just as the massive tree came crashing down – narrowly missing both him and Huang's brother.

Recounting the harrowing moment in an interview with China Press, Huang's brother said: "The heavy rain had just stopped, and we were about to drive off when we suddenly heard a cracking noise from the big tree beside us. The next thing we knew, it came crashing down!"

He added in another interview with Sin Chew Daily that if they had entered the car just 20 seconds earlier, the outcome would've been unimaginable.

Photos from the scene showed the car severely damaged, with its roof dented and rear windshield completely shattered.

Many netizens have since expressed shock at the incident, saying that the two were incredibly lucky to have escaped unharmed.

"That was such a close call," one person commented.

"How scary! May good people live long and prosper," another said.

"Thank goodness no one was injured," added a third.
