Hong Kong singer-actor Stephen Fung and Taiwanese actress Shu Qi have been married for nearly 10 years, but the couple has yet to start their own family.
In a recent interview, Shu, 49, revealed her hopes to become a mother someday and is open to adopting.
Speaking to Hong Kong media at an event on Nov 23, Fung, 51, said he’s also open to the idea of adoption, adding that the process doesn’t require too much effort.
When asked whether he had discussed the matter with Shu, the Gen-X Cops star replied: “She doesn’t need to tell me. Whatever she decides, that’s how it will be.”
While he has heard many people lamenting that the current state of the world is too chaotic to raise children, Fung doesn’t see it as a major concern.
“If everyone thinks that way, then humans would eventually disappear. I think we should all try our best,” he said.
Shu and Fung first met on the set of the romance movie Bishonen in 1997.
The pair started dating in 2012, after more than 10 years of friendship, and eventually married in a low-key ceremony in Prague in 2016.
