Hong Kong artiste Gabriel Harrison recently raised concern among fans after disclosing that his wife Effie Mok has been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and is in urgent need of surgery.

On Nov 8, the 52-year-old took to Instagram to seek financial assistance, revealing that he needed HK$1.5mil (RM803,921) to fund his wife's liver transplant.

Harrison shared that, with the help of friends, he had managed to raise HK$700,000 (RM375,163) so far, but additional funds are still needed to reach the target.

The TVB star revealed that Mok is in critical condition, with doctors warning that the next few days are crucial for the transplant.

Despite spending 20 days at Queen Mary Hospital, his wife still wasn't on the transplant waiting list and has since been transferred to Zhongshan Hospital in Guangzhou for further treatment.

"I hope everyone can do what they can to help. Thank you so much. Thank you all for your help," the actor said tearfully.

At press time, Harrison hasn't shared any donation links.

However, he left a comment under his post, saying that he's currently sorting things out.

He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who showed concern and sent their well-wishes.

For the record, Harrison first met Mok – who's a makeup artist – while working in Beijing in 2012. The couple married in 2017.
