Outer Banks stars Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes allegedly intervened when the show’s director and co-creator abused a female production assistant on the Croatia set of the teen drama.

Insiders told TMZ that Jonas Pate was screaming in the crew member’s face when he shook her this week, amid filming the Netflix show’s fifth and final season in Dubrovnik.

“It’s about time that it’s made public,” a production source told the outlet Wednesday (Oct 22), with multiple insiders claiming it’s not “unusual behaviour” for Pate.

The Daily News has reached out to Netflix and Pate’s representative for additional details about the alleged incident and whether he will continue to work on the show and in what capacity.

TMZ reports that “tensions were high” even before the altercation, which Stokes, 33, and Cline, 27, helped break up.

Representatives for Stokes and Cline did not immediately respond to The News’ request for comment.

The North Carolina-set series arrived on the streamer in 2020. Filming for the final chapter began in June of this year, with the season expected to premiere sometime in 2026. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
