Retired Chinese actor Li Yapeng has ended his second marriage to former beauty queen Haiha Jinxi.

In a statement issued on Tuesday (Oct 14), the duo – who tied the knot in 2022 – revealed that their divorce had been finalised some time ago.

They added that their three-year-old daughter Li Xia will live with Haiha but will be jointly raised by both parents.

“We had hoped to keep things quiet but received so many questions from concerned friends. After much discussion, we have decided to announce (the news),” they said.

According to Hong Kong news outlet HK01, rumours of the pair’s divorce first surfaced in May, though Haiha denied them at the time. Li, 54, is 19 years older than Haiha.

Li was previously married to Mandopop star Faye Wong between 2005 and 2013, and they have an 18-year-old daughter Li Yan.

In 2023, Li Yapeng – who retired from showbiz in 2010 to pursue business – revealed that he had incurred over 40mil yuan (RM23.8mil) in debt after a failed real estate investment.

Earlier this August, reports surfaced that the hospital he co-founded with Wong had fallen into over 13mil yuan (RM7.7mil) of debt and was facing legal action.

Despite his financial woes, Li has been working very hard to rebuild his finances by selling products through livestreaming.
