Last month, singer-actor Edwin Siu and his wife, actress and TV host Priscilla Wong, were spotted at a fish stall at a wet market in Hong Kong.
The couple donned plastic aprons and rubber gloves, enthusiastically selling fish to customers.
The pair who appeared surprisingly skilled at their temporary trade, sparked online chatter about whether they've taken on new jobs.
On Monday (Oct 6), Siu went on Instagram to share that the experience was for a show that explores family legacy.
Siu shared a short video of their “workday” at the market, captioning it: “Thanks to the production team for letting us turn work into a date.
"It was such a special experience – getting to sell fish together with (my partner).
"During the process, I felt like I could see my father-in-law’s spirit in her – they’re both so optimistic and cheerful.
"No matter what obstacles they face, they always persevere until the end.
"That’s what the true meaning of ‘heritage’ is – the spirit that gets passed on.”
Wong has previously mentioned that her father sold fish on the streets before later becoming a construction worker. He clearly thrived in that field because in 2016, reports revealed that he became an overnight billionaire when his construction company was publicly listed.
Siu also posted a second video showing him reading "a letter from home" written by Wong’s father, which moved her to tears.
In the letter, her father recalled how Wong often helped him at the fish stall, describing her as a sensible and hardworking child. He encouraged her to continue being strong, especially now that she has become a mother.
As her husband read the letter aloud, Wong grew emotional and was seen wiping away tears.
