While Chow Yun Fat is often spotted jogging, hiking or enjoying a casual meal, this time he was seen in Central, Hong Kong, fully immersed in his photography hobby – something he begins as early as 5am.

In December last year, Chow held a charity exhibition titled Hong Kong Morning, showcasing his love for the city.

“Making movies brought me to different places, which is how I got into photography. Aside from acting, it has become another major part of my life,” the three-time Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor winner told the South China Morning Post.

During this recent outing, the 70-year-old star was approached by several fans as he snapped photos of street life.

Ever friendly, he chatted with them and even obliged selfies – something he’s long been known to do.

Still, many passersby who recognised the star chose to give him space, quietly watching from afar and allowing the beloved actor to enjoy his craft in peace.

This included a street photographer, who later shared on Instagram a video of Chow in action – dressed in his trademark black sportswear, camera in hand, capturing everyday life in Sheung Wan.

The photographer, who goes by the name Stacey, finally approached Chow to ask for tips on photography. Chow happily obliged, giving an “impromptu lesson”.
