Jeanne Lau, the eldest daughter of late Hong Kong martial artist Lau Kar-leung and retired actress Mary Jean Reimer, has officially entered a new chapter in life.
On Monday (Sept 8), the actress delighted fans after announcing on Instagram that she had tied the knot with her non-celebrity husband on May 25.
The intimate ceremony, held in Rome, was attended by family and close friends.
“We chose Palazzo Brancaccio, where Roman Holiday was filmed, and made our ceremony a tad Lord Of The Rings inspired,” Jeanne, 39, wrote in the caption.
Her post was accompanied by a series of photos, including three of the newlyweds sharing a tender kiss, another of them holding hands underneath a flower-filled arch and several more of Jeanne flaunting her wedding gown – which was inspired by the timeless elegance of the late Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly.
For the banquet, Jeanne embraced her roots as both she and her husband donned traditional Chinese attire.
The celebration was nothing short of grand, complete with a magician and a swing band that kept the atmosphere lively and joyful.
“Weddings are an excuse to throw a huge party with loved ones,” Jeanne wrote in a separate Instagram post on Wednesday (Sept 10).
Lau, who died of leukemia at the age of 78 in 2013, is considered one of the most influential figures in the history of martial arts cinema.
Throughout his 60-year career, he has worked on films such as The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin (1978), Shaolin Warrior (1980), Tiger On Beat (1988) and more.

She retired from acting after marrying Lau in 1984. The pair have another younger daughter Rosemary, 36.
