Former Hong Kong child star Mani Fok made headlines in 2013 when she revealed that she had secretly given birth to her daughter Hanni in the United States in 2011.

While she has kept the identity of Hanni’s father a secret, Fok, who’s now an artiste manager, shared that she has been raising her daughter on her own as a single mother.

For years, the 53-year-old has kept Hanni away from the spotlight.

But on Thursday (July 17), to mark her own birthday, Fok gave fans a rare glimpse of her 14-year-old daughter as the duo appeared together in their very first magazine photoshoot.

“In the blink of an eye, Hanni is already taller than me. She can now confidently pose alongside me in front of the cameras!

“Hanni, you’ve brought me so many surprises. You weren’t nervous and bravely took on your first-ever magazine cover shoot. Creating this special memory with you is the best gift ever,” she captioned her Instagram post.

In her post, Fok also expressed her gratitude to Chic magazine for giving them the opportunity to share this special first collaboration as mother and daughter.

She also wished for her daughter to always be safe and happy.

Many netizens and celebrity friends have since left comments wishing Fok a happy birthday while others praised the duo for their striking visuals.

“Pretty daughter and beautiful mum,” said Hong Kong singer-actress Sammi Cheng.

One netizen commented: “Hanni has inherited her mother’s good genes.”

“Both the mum and daughter are gorgeous and pretty,” added another.

For the record, Fok is the chief operating officer of Emperor Entertainment Group – a talent agency representing major stars such as Nicholas Tse, Hacken Lee, Leo Ku and more.

Over the years, she has established herself as one of the most influential celebrity managers in Hong Kong, having managed top talents such as Tse, Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung of Twins, as well as Joey Yung.
