Shim Jaehyun (pic), a former member of the K-pop boy group F.able, died after battling leukemia. He was 23 years old.
Jaehyun died on June 29, Sunday, as reported by K-pop platforms Koreaboo and allkpop three days later. While it was unknown how long he had been battling leukemia, it was stated that he had been keeping his condition private.
His bandmate Hojun mourned his death on his Instagram Story, sharing photos of his favourite memories with the late K-pop star.
“Jaehyun, it was too late when I heard the news. I am so sorry I couldn’t go to your final path. Sometimes, I wonder, ‘What if I had treated you better?’ It is such a pity. I hope you shake off your worries and live comfortably,” he said in Korean.
Hojun also thanked Jaehyun for the bond they shared.
“Thank you for the five years we had together. I pray that you eat lots of good food and live well. Please come visit me in my dream at least once,” he said.
Details about the late K-pop idol’s resting place have yet to be disclosed, as of this writing.
Born in April 2002, Jaehyun debuted as the vocalist and maknae (or youngest member) of F.able in June 2020. Other members included Hojun, Sihoon, Junhyoung and Jeong.
After a three-year run, its label Haeirum Entertainment announced that F.able will go on a short hiatus, but ended up disbanding in the following year. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
