In a moment of relatable parenting, Ben Affleck told his teen son that he’ll have to put in the work if he wants to sport a pair of $6,000 (RM26,561) Dior sneakers.

The Oscar winner, 52, was attending an LA sneaker convention with 13-year-old Samuel – who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner – when the youngest Affleck took notice of the Air Force 1s, as seen in video shared by Got Sole.

Upon seeing the price tag, Affleck told his son, “That’s a lot of lawns you gotta mow there. You just like those ’cause they’re expensive.”

“No, they’re tough! I always said they look good,” Samuel replied.

The sighting came on the heels of the father-and-son duo being photographed Feb 27 when they attended the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Along with Samuel, Affleck and Garner – who were married from 2005 to 2018 – share two other children: Seraphina, 16, and Violet, 19.

The former couple have maintained a solid friendship and co-parenting situation since separating in 2015.

In early January, Affleck fled to Garner’s home amid the devastating wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles, and just days after finalising his divorce from Jennifer Lopez earlier that week.

Affleck and the Bronx-born pop star, 55, were engaged in the early aughts before moving on with Garner and Marc Anthony, respectively. They got back together in 2021 and said “I do” in two ceremonies the following year.

Lopez filed for divorce this past August, on what would have been their second wedding anniversary, after months of split speculation. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
