South Korean actor Park Dong-bin was found dead on Wednesday (April 29) at a restaurant he was preparing to open. He was 56.
Korean media reported that an acquaintance who was helping with the new business discovered his body at around 4.25pm the previous day.
The restaurant is located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
According to The Korea Times, police found no signs of foul play or forced entry, though investigations into the circumstances of his death are ongoing.
Park made his acting debut in 1999 with the film Shiri.
He went on to appear in numerous K-dramas, including Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Everybody, Kimchi, So I Married the Anti-Fan, Cafe Minamdang and last year's My Lovely Journey.
He also gained online attention for a scene in the 2012 drama Maybe Love that went viral, earning him the nickname “Juice Guy”, in which his character – shocked by an unexpected news – spits orange juice back into a cup.
Park married actress Lee Sang-yi in February 2020. He is survived by his wife and their daughter.
