Abdul Zackery Ghouse Abdul Gafor, the husband of Malaysian actress Zahnita Wilson, claims he has endured years of domestic violence by her.

The allegation comes a month after Zahnita, 39, shared photos of her bruised face on Instagram, accusing Abdul Zackery of abuse throughout their marriage.

In an interview with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal, Abdul Zackery said he has endured Zahnita’s yearly demands for divorce throughout their 20-year marriage.

“She knows Muay Thai and has even tried to Muay Thai me... I tried to calm her down,” he said.

The 47-year-old claimed that their argument last November, during which he allegedly became aggressive, stemmed from Zahnita renting a property for her business without informing him.

He further accused the actress of neglecting their four kids since starting the venture, emphasising that his comments are made in the interest of their children’s welfare.

“When I confronted her, she became angry, saying she needed to protect her business and couldn’t live with me as I always hit her,” he said.

Abdul Zackery also called for his wife to focus on their family, particularly their youngest child who has autism.

For the record, Zahnita filed for divorce from her husband at Kuantan Syariah Lower Court in Pahang on Dec 3, a day after accusing her husband of domestic violence.

She had previously filed for divorce in 2013 but withdrew the petition in early 2015.

Meanwhile, Abdul Zackery has pleaded not guilty to the charge of allegedly causing injury to Zahnita at the Kuantan Magistrate’s Court on Dec 5. The pair tied the knot in 2005.
