Hong Kong-based Canadian celebrity Bonnie Chan has become a mother.

On Dec 25, the 34-year-old shared on Instagram that she had given birth to twin boys, nicknamed Ocean and Sun, in September.

This joyful news comes in the same month that she announced her pregnancy with her husband, Kuok Meng Jun, a deejay who is also the grandson of Malaysian billionaire Robert Kuok – Malaysia's richest person.

Since marrying Meng Jun in 2021, Chan has kept a relatively low profile.

Chan's public life began when she emerged as the third runner-up in the 2016 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant. She built a career as a television host and actress, starring in dramas like Heart And Greed 3 and I Bet Your Pardon.

The year before her marriage, she left the entertainment industry to focus on yoga and wellness.

Now, it seems that Chan is embracing her new role as a mother, sharing her journey with her followers.

On Christmas Day, she took to Instagram to post photos of her twin sons and reflect on her experience with pregnancy and motherhood.

“Carrying twins was one of the toughest yet most rewarding journeys of my life,” wrote Chan in her post.

She described enduring severe nausea and developing a heightened sensitivity to smells early in her pregnancy, when she “practically lived on crackers, cold toast, and fruit, confined to my bedroom. Even water felt like a challenge some days.”

By the later stages of her pregnancy, simple tasks like rolling over in bed or standing became physically taxing due to swollen feet and back pain.

Despite these struggles, Chan expressed immense gratitude for her healthy sons.

“Today, at just a few months old, Ocean and Sun are cooing, smiling at our voices, and always reaching for us,” she wrote.

“My phone storage is filled with their photos, yet I still can’t capture how quickly they’re growing. They’ve already outgrown their newborn clothes, and my heart aches at how fast time is flying.”

“Being a boy mum is an adventure I treasure every day, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas from our family to yours!”

In the comment section, many fans wished Chan well as she embraces motherhood and this new chapter in the life of one of Malaysia's most prominent families.
