Local film producer and entrepreneur Jaguar Lim is set to embark on a new chapter in his life as he prepares for fatherhood.

On Dec 20, the 59-year-old announced in a Facebook video that he’s expecting a child with his wife Mei Qi (transliteration), who’s 32 years his junior.

Lim revealed that his 27-year-old wife is six months pregnant and expressed his joy and excitement about becoming a father.

“My wife is pregnant, I’m going to be a dad,” said the movie producer, who has worked on films such as Zombies Vs. The Lucky Exorcist (2015), Amazing Titanman (2018) and more.

Lim added that he never anticipated becoming a father at this age and reached out to his followers for suggestions on baby names.

He also mentioned that his friends have been quick to congratulate him upon hearing the news of his impending fatherhood.

“They told me this baby will bring me good luck,” he said.

Many netizens have since flooded the comments with congratulatory messages while others gave suggestions for baby names.

Lim and Mei Qi announced that they would be getting married in 2021, though the wedding was postponed due to the Movement Control Order (MCO).

At the time, Lim thanked his wife for consistently supporting and loving him, saying: “You have shared my struggles and stood by me through the toughest times. Thank you!”
