Comedian Kabir “Kabeezy” Singh, a former semifinalist on “America’s Got Talent,” died Wednesday in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was 39.

Authorities believe Singh may have died of natural causes, given his history of health issues, though his cause of death is pending a toxicology report, law enforcement sources told TMZ. It’s unclear what those prior health issues were.

Singh’s fiancee confirmed his death to People.

“It’s My Deepest Regrets to let Everyone Know that Kabir Singh has passed away... He passed away peacefully in his sleep and this is the most devastating post I’ve posted,” his friend, Jeremy Curry, said on Facebook. “Please keep his family and fiancé in your thoughts and prayers....I Love you bro.”

According to Curry, services for Singh will take place the morning of Dec. 14 in Hayward, California.

Singh entered a new realm of popularity in 2021 when he competed during Season 16 of NBC’s AGT.

Panelist Sofía Vergara called Singh’s set “a great surprise,” while Simon Cowell said it was “pretty impressive” and a “great audition.” Vergara, Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel voted unanimously for Singh to move ahead in the competition.

At the time, he said his work had been featured on Family Guy, Comedy Central, as well as the BBC.

Singh last posted on Instagram on Nov 2, to promote a comedy show he was doing at the Deaf Puppy Comedy Club in Manteca, California.

The venue shared photos from his show there the night prior, which they said “were too much fun! Non stop laughs from these guys. Kabir absolutely brought the house down.”

Fellow Bay Area comic Chris Mitri paid tribute to Singh on his Instagram story, remembering him as “a guiding light to all Bay Area comics, showing us that if you work hard enough your talent will shine through” and “a force to be reckoned with.” – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
