Actress Sophia Albarakbah revealed that she will be selling fresh pandan coconut water at the Ramadan bazaar at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
The 32-year-old said this year’s Ramadan brings something different for her as she and her siblings have agreed to open a stall starting from the third day of Ramadan.
Sophia said the idea stemmed from her own fondness for coconut water, which she considers healthier than sugary drinks.
“What’s special about this Ramadan is that my sibling and I will be selling coconut water at the Merdeka Bazaar Ramadan located at Stadium Merdeka. We might start trading on the third day of Ramadan.
“I really like coconut water and I’m not a fan of sugary drinks. At bazaars, we usually see many people selling coconut water in large containers that have already been mixed with sugar and ice. It’s quite hard to find it fresh.
"However, we will be selling it straight from the fruit, which is a healthier way to drink.
“Besides that, I’m a bit sceptical (of the mixed coconut water) – we don’t know whether the ice is clean or not,” she told mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal.
As a businesswoman, Sophia knows that customer feedback is just as important as she wants "to provide the best service to everyone".
“I’m selling something I truly like and I feel is nutritious to drink.
As whether, she will be there in person selling, Sophia said: “If I’m not tied up with filming, I’ll come down to sell together with my sibling.
The busy actress will be filming throughout Ramadan.
