Chinese celebrity couple Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang marry

Around four months after going public with their relationship, Chinese celebrity couple Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang have tied the knot.

Huang, 31, and Xu, 27, made their announcement simultaneously on Chinese social media platform Weibo at 7.19pm on Dec 2, tagging each other in the post.

“I want to be in a relationship with marriage as the goal,” read her post.

“The goal has been achieved,” read his.

The couple also posted their official marriage photo and a picture of themselves holding their marriage certificates.

Huang, also known by his stage name Tao, is a former member of K-pop boy band Exo and their Chinese sub-unit Exo-M, whose former members include Kris Wu and Lu Han.

Xu is a former trainee under South Korea’s SM Entertainment, whose stable of artistes includes K-pop boy bands NCT, Shinee and Super Junior, as well as girl groups Aespa, Girls’ Generation and Red Velvet.

She joined Huang’s agency L.Tao Entertainment in 2018 and took part in Chinese female idol survival show Produce Camp 2020, in which Huang was one of the mentors.

They were rumoured to be in a relationship after the show, but did not confirm it at the time.

They went public with their relationship on social media in July, before Huang proposed to Xu in an episode of Chinese reality travel show Dare Or Not in August. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
