Hong Kong martial arts actor Lee Hoi Sang dies at 83

Hong Kong martial arts actor Lee Hoi Sang has passed away. He was 83.

According to reports, Lee died in hospital on Sept 9 due to a bacterial infection linked to skin lesions.

In an interview with Hong Kong media, Lee’s wife revealed that the former TVB star fell ill three months ago.

She added that the family sought medical treatment everywhere, and their children spent thousands of Hong Kong dollars to hire nurses to tend to him.

However, Lee’s pain was so severe to the point he had trouble sleeping, and the hospital had to give him morphine injections, according to China Press.

Lee is best known for his role as Uncle Shen in the television series, Come Home Love: Lo And Behold.

He is also recognised for his performance in The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin, Shaolin Challenges Ninja and Project A, where he worked alongside Jackie Chan and Gordon Liu.

Throughout his career, Lee was celebrated for his expertise in wing chun, which he learned from the legendary Chinese martial artist Yip Man.

He was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Hong Kong Stuntmen Association in 2018 for his contribution to Hong Kong kung fu films.
