Hong Kong actor Carlos Chan and his wife, singer Shiga Lin, are officially parents!

In an Instagram post on Thursday (July 18), Chan – who recently took a break from filming in Malaysia to accompany Lin – revealed that his wife had given birth to their first child – a baby daughter named Camila.

The TVB star said although he had prepared many jokes to comfort Lin, 36, as she gives birth, he was rendered speechless upon stepping into the delivery room.

"The only thing I could say was, 'I love you'. During this period, I honestly felt irresponsible. A few weeks before our child was due, I flew off to film a drama," the 37-year-old said.

He added: "My wife was incredibly strong, taking good care of herself and making all the necessary preparations. Today, our baby was born safely. Mums are the greatest."

In an interview with Hong Kong media, Chan expressed excitement at becoming a first-time dad and shared that his baby girl had Lin's eyes.

"Her nose and mouth look like mine, but I can't tell yet. I'm still a little nervous and my head is pounding.

"I also cut our baby's umbilical cord. This experience is so special and intimate ... I don't know how to describe it," he said.

Chan was in Malaysia last week to film his new drama, Fearless.

During a lensing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur at the time, the actor said he would be taking a week’s break from his busy schedule to care for Lin in Hong Kong.

He will be returning to Malaysia after his break to resume filming.

Chan and Lin reportedly met while filming the 2019 travel show, 12 Summers, and had been spotted by the media going on dates shortly after.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish HK$3mil (RM1.68mil) wedding on April 24 last year.
