Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao and his long-time manager Summer Lin tied the knot last October.

Although the couple dated for 16 years, they never publicly confirmed their relationship until last June when Hsiao, 36, announced his engagement to Lin, 50.

In a recent interview with Taiwanese media, Lin revealed that the 14-year age difference and her role as Hsiao's manager were among the reasons why they chose to keep their romance a secret.

On the other hand, Hsiao said he never found the age gap with Lin to be a major concern.

The singer noted that while Lin can be serious at times, she also has a cute and childish side she shows in private.

He joked: "I blame her. Why did (she) have to be born so early? Won't (she) have to wait for me for a long time?"

Hsiao said he fell for Lin during their very first meeting. Although he recalled Lin telling him to get to know more people as she was worried he was acting on impulse, the singer was sure of his feelings.

During the interview, Hsiao revealed that he specifically chose to propose to Lin the day before her birthday.

"I was hoping to confirm our relationship before she turned 50 which is why I chose to propose to her on June 26," he said.

Hsiao also shared this his life feels complete now that he's officially married to Lin.

"This is the life I've been looking forward to for a long time. It's very simple. When we aren't working, we would listen to jazz music, enjoy food and exercise together. Age is not a problem," he said.

Lin added: "We both prioritise in taking good care of ourselves so we don't burden one another."
