Not too long ago, it was reported that Jackie Chan’s estranged daughter, Etta Ng, was lining up to get free food given to the needy in Canada.

This prompted some netizens to message the martial artist on Weibo to help his daughter out.

There’s no doubt, the 68-year-old star could easily do just that as his net worth is said to be US$400mil (RM1.89bil).

And as indicated by this latest article on a Singapore entertainment portal, the Police Story actor's worth could be even more due to his properties in China.

It mentions that Chan was working in Beijing in 1990, where he was put up at an old hostel that was in a terrible state.

Since he was going to be in China for some time, the actor decided to buy a house instead of continuing to stay at the hostel. He can do that.

The property he was recommended by housing agents was a traditional Chinese courtyard home and it’s said he bought it for the price of 500,000 yuan (today that price converts to RM326,926).

He eventually bought a total of eight courtyard houses for the sum of 4 million yuan (by today’s conversion rate, that’s RM2.6mil).

The value of the houses that Chan bought kept going up from 500,000 yuan to 12 million yuan, to reportedly 100 million yuan (RM65mil) each now.

According to a 2020 article, Chan has properties in the United States too. There's a Beverly Hills villa in Los Angeles which he bought for US$3mil in 1998 and a lavish house in Miami, which was put up for sale a few years ago.

Besides properties and the salary from films, Chan’s income also comes from other sources like his film production and distribution company and a number of “Chan-branded” businesses.

Although he's been in the industry for 60 years, Chan is ever busy. According to IMDB.com, he has five upcoming films including the animated film Kung Fu Panda 4 (scheduled for 2024). In September, Chan released the book I Am Jackie Chan.
