If you are a fan of the French comedy series Dix Pour Cent (or Call My Agent!), then look forward to watching a Malaysian version of it soon as Astro has acquired the rights to adapt it

The original series centres on three employees who work at a talent agency in Paris, who handle their crazy celebrity clients to the best of their abilities while juggling their own personal lives.

It is known for having famous guests on the show, well-known actors playing themselves. There is also a British version, and an upcoming American remake.

The series has also been adapted in India, Canada and Turkey. Other countries adapting the show include South Korea, Indonesia, the Middle East, the Philippines and Poland.

Besides the global sensation Call My Agent!, Astro has also got the rights to adapt British thriller series Liar, created by Bafta and Golden Globe-nominated screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams.

According to press statement from Astro, the Malaysian remake of Liar will be helmed by production house Double Vision – which previously adapted the Nordic television series The Bridge.

Liar is a 2014 psychological thriller series starring Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt and Fantastic Four actor Ioan Guffard.

Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, the Vice President of Malay Nusantara Business & Head of Astro Shaw, stated: “We are thrilled to be commissioning local adaptations of some of the best internationally acclaimed series, bringing international storytelling with local nuances and themes to our audiences.”

The Malaysian adaptations of Liar and Call My Agent! are expected to premiere towards the end of the year on Astro.
