Proving that no one is too old to achieve great things, Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse has just picked up his first Best Actor award after dabbling in showbiz for seven decades.
The 85-year-old artiste was named Best Actor by the Hong Kong Film Critics' Society for his role as a retired contract killer in Time.
Time is produced and co-written by Hong Kong actor Gordon Lam.
Tse beat out actors Daniel Wu, Leung Chong Hang as well as Lam (who secured two nominations in this category) for the Best Actor gong.
"I must invite them to a six-star hotel for coffee," Tse said, thanking the cast and crew of the film.
"I would like to thank my on-screen partner Fung Bo Bo the most. We had great chemistry on set. I hope there will be more opportunities to work together in the future,” Tse, who is the father of actor Nicholas Tse, added.
Patrick Tse and Fung first worked together in the 1960 flick Deep In Love when the latter was just four years old.
It was reported that Tse came out of retirement to star in Time.
In the annual Hong Kong Film Critics' Society Awards, action thriller Limbo was named best film of 2021. Limbo's female lead Cya Liu took home the Best Actress award.
The late Benny Chan, who died in 2020 at 58, was named Best Director for his last film, crime thriller Raging Fire.
