TVB actress Alice Chan, 48, announces engagement to doctor boyfriend

On her 48th birthday on Sunday (Nov 21), Alice Chan was gifted a marriage proposal from her doctor boyfriend.

A Hong Kong news outlet reported that the TVB star was proposed to in front of their friends, who were gathered at a French restaurant.

According to the article, Aldous Chan got down on one knee with a three-carat diamond ring to ask for Alice’s hand in marriage. He had also prepared 99 red roses and a cake with the words “Happy birthday, Mrs Chan”.

Alice has been dating Aldous, 44, for two years now.

The two met through TVB actor Ben Wong. One news portal stated that Aldous and Wong own an aesthetics clinic in Hong Kong.

After the introduction, Alice and Aldous were friends for over a year before they started a romantic relationship, with the intention of tying the knot one day.

This will be a second marriage for Alice; she was previously married to Taiwanese businessman James Yen for four years.

Similarly, Aldous was also married before and has two daughters with his ex-wife.

The TVB artiste and the doctor confirmed their relationship to media in July 2019 after they were spotted at a medical conference in Bali.

This was what Alice said of her now fiance Aldous to one media: “Dr Chan is not romantic, but is very attentive. He is very good at drawing. And the most romantic thing that he has given me is a hand-drawn card.”
