Chinese-Canadian star Wanting Qu's mother sentenced to life in prison for accepting RM63mil bribe

After years of uncertainty surrounding the case of the mother of Canadian-born Chinese artiste Wanting Qu, the court has finally reached a verdict.

On Nov 17, the Harbin City Intermediate People's Court in China announced that Zhang Mingjie has been found guilty of corruption and sentenced to life in prison. This concludes the case five years after her first trial which saw prosecutors asking for the death penalty.
