Actor Will Smith says he contemplated killing his abusive father in new memoir

Behind the welcoming smile of Will Smith is a very dark past. The actor shares his complicated relationship with his late father, Will Carroll Smith Sr., who had abusive tendencies in his upcoming memoir.

In an excerpt published by People magazine, Smith revealed: "My father was violent, but he was also at every game, play, and recital. He was an alcoholic, but he was sober at every premiere of every one of my movies. The same intense perfectionism that terrorised his family put food on the table every night of my life."
