EXO's Park Chan-yeol was among the unexpected guests to appear on KBS's Boss In The Mirror.
On their Oct 24 episode, renowned musical director Kim Moon-jung revealed that she's returning to the scene after a three-month break with Meissa's Song, a musical that had been planned in conjunction with South Korea's 30th Anniversary of UN (United Nations) Membership.
Kim also introduced some of the actors that would be part of the musical.
To everyone's surprise, standing among the actors present was none other than the EXO member.
"I am Private Park Chan-yeol, a member of the 9th division. I was an active member of EXO before enlisting in the military," said the star dressed in a soldier's attire.
Some of the other K-pop stars who are included among the cast are L from boyband Infinite and B.A.P's Daehyun.
Park is cast in the lead role, a soldier named Raman.
The musical follows his character, who grows up in the fictional country of Kamur that's currently at war with South Korea.
Raman is sent on a search mission to find a soldier named Meissa.
Upon their encounter, Meissa inspires Raman to go out and achieve his own dreams which prompts him to participate in a K-pop audition.
The story is said to showcase various aspects of Korean culture throughout the musical.
The 28-year-old Park was complimented by the Boss In The Mirror hosts.
"The uniform looks very good on you," said Kim Sook, while his co-host Jeon Hyun-moo jokingly continued: "You're like the real version of Descendants Of The Sun."
As part of his mandatory duty as a Korean citizen, the boyband member had enlisted in the military back in March and will be actively serving for 18 months.
It was revealed in May that Park had successfully completed his basic military training.
