Actor Kim Soo-hyun thinks he could’ve been a ‘Squid Game’ contestant

With Squid Game being all the rage right now, understandably everyone wants a piece of the action.

This includes actor Kim Soo-hyun, 33, who has a little fun with the series’ popularity.

The My Love From The Star actor had shared with a friend an edited photo of a character he originally played in the film Secretly, Greatly (2013), which he had photoshopped into a scene in the Squid Game.

That friend – singer Lee Hong-ki of the Korean rock band F.T. Island – then uploaded that photo to his Instagram story.

A Korean news portal reported what Lee had written on the image Kim shared.

“He sent me this photo saying he could have appeared (on Squid Game) too ... hahaha hyung ... If you did, you would have been the first one to die hahahaha.”

In the photo (shown below), Kim is wearing the green track suit – not unlike the ones all the contestants have on in the series – and he's blending in quite well, erm, except for the expression.

Secretly, Greatly centres on a North Korean spy (Kim) who's sent to South Korea to gather information. To ensure no one finds out about his identity, he pretends to be a man who lacks intelligence. And the outfit he wears to keep up the pretence is the green track suit.
