Sometime in July, it was reported that South Korean actor Song Joong-ki had a bit of a conflict with his neighbours due to renovations done to his property at Itaewon, Seoul.
According to a Korean news portal, residents living in this neighbourhood filed a complaint after a public road bordering Song’s property was repaved.
This caused the road to be elevated and too narrow to navigate.
At that time, Song’s agency had stated that they were looking into the matter and doing their best to resolve the issue.
The Vincenzo actor began construction on this private, luxury home, in February 2020. He is said to have bought the property for KRW10bil (RM36mil).
More recently, a Singaporean media reported that the best solution Song could come up with is to sacrifice part of his land to the government so that the road could be widened.
Apparently, the 35-year-old star offered to give up 1,500 sq ft of the 9,000 sq ft property, which comes up to 16.7% reduction to his land, said the article.
Hopefully this would solve the problem for the actor and his neighbours.
During all this, Song was filming the movie Bogota. There was also a bit of a scare when he had come in close contact with a person with Covid-19.
Another upcoming project for Song is, revenge K-drama titled Chaebol Family's Youngest Son (working title) in which he will be starring alongside actor Lee Sung-min.
Based on the web novel Chaeboljib Maknaeadeul, the drama will be written by Kim Tae-hee (Sungkyunkwan Scandal). It centres on a chaebol family’s secretary who is reincarnated as the family’s youngest son.
