Talks are apparently underway for a second season of the hit K-drama Taxi Driver.
Koreaboo.com quoted an SBS official in its report: “We are discussing the timeline and schedule. Specific details have not been confirmed yet.”
The revenge drama starring Lee Je-hoon ended its run on May 29, after 16 episodes. It received high viewership rating and positive reviews.
In a behind the scene video, actor Lee had mentioned he would love to do a second season of the show.
He said: “If I personally had any hopes, it’d be to continue the story of Taxi Driver together while we stay healthy and happy.”
The 37-year-old star added: “If they say they’re doing a second season, I’ll run over here in a heartbeat.
"If the viewers love us even more, support us, and wait for us, we may be able to start another story of Taxi Driver someday.”
Based on a webtoon, the drama centres on a taxi driver (Lee) who gets revenge and justice on behalf of those who have been wronged and abandoned by the law.
One of the most enjoyable aspects about the show – other than Lee's energetic performance – is of course seeing the bad guys get their comeuppance.
The victims’ stories highlighted in the show are said to be based on real-life cases in South Korea.
Other cast members include Esom, Kim Eui-sung and Pyo Ye-jin.
