The lead singer of Blink-182, Mark Hoppus, revealed that has been diagnosed with cancer.
On Wednesday (June 23), Hoppus announced that for the last three months he had been undergoing for chemotherapy.
“I have cancer, ” Hoppus wrote. “It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this. I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all.”
Hoppus did not reveal where the cancer was located.
Hours before his statement, Hoppus posted and quickly deleted a photo of him at a doctor’s office.
“Yes hello. One cancer treatment please, ” the Instagram story was captioned.
“You’re on our minds, Mark. Your attitude is going to be magnified by so many people, ” wrote actor B.J. Novak in support of Hoppus on Twitter.”
“You’ve got this, brother, ” added Wolf Van Halen along with three heart emoji.
Hoppus’ bandmate Travis Barker shared a photo of the two on Instagram with the caption, “Love you @markhoppus” with a heart emoji. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
